Softball Madness, Part Two

I think I forgot to mention that in the end Julia decided that she does want to play softball...so all three older kids are signed up for Little League, and I am dreading the entire thing. I hope that I am wrong about how horrible it's going to be, but I don't think I am. Because last year it was awful having only one team to deal with. Now there are three. Hence, it will be three times as bad--unless you believe that it will be bad exponentially, which I do! But maybe I'm just being a pessimist and it will be the most fun experience I can ever imagine....yeah, right!

What are you worried is going to happen? Or what happened last year?

We've been doing Little League for some years now, so I know the kinds of things that are hard for parents and kids and teams to deal with: behavior, fairness, emotions, boredom, field conditions, schedules, other parents, etc. I hope we can try to all have fun with it, and I suppose there's going to be a formula for that for each team and each child...

My problem with the whole thing (see "Softball Madness") has much more to do with the timing of the games--getting a decent dinner, getting home and having bath and bed pushed back so late--and most of all freezing to death every time! With 3 kids playing I think I will be there pretty much every night; when I had one playing last year, it was already a real nuisance...
